The King

Photograph by: Ditta (mbe)

Story by: Putri Aisyah

Original Indonesian version is available here.
Translated by me.

Once upon a time in a jungle, there was a mother lion died after giving birth to her child. The fragile baby lion lived without the protection of its mother. Some time later a group of goats came across the place. The baby lion then wiggled its weak body, making the mother goat noticed. She felt pity seeing the weak baby lion would be living his life all alone. Therefore, the mother instinct of the mother goat to take care and protect the baby lion arose. The mother goat then approached the baby lion and stroked it with great warmth and affection. Felt the warmth of affection like that, the baby lion did not want to be apart with the mother goat. He continued to follow the mother goat wherever she went. The baby lion eventually became part of the goats big family. Day by day, the baby lion grew within the big goats community. He breastfed, ate, drank, and played with other young goats.

His behavior then became more and more like a goat. Even the young lion made a bleating sound as like a goat instead of roaring! He felt that he was a goat, just like the other goats. He never believed that he is a lion.

One day, there was a tremendous noise. A wild wolf came in for a hunt. All the goats were running around in panic. All fear. The mother goat who also in fear asked the lion to face the wolf.

"You're a lion, now go face the wolf! Roar hard and I believe the wolf will definitely run away!" Said the mother goat to the young lion who already looked big and sturdy. But since the lion had been living in the middle of the goat's community for long time, he went hide together with other goats instead of facing the wolf. He screamed bloody murder and that came out of his mouth is bleat sound.Just like the other goat was not roaring. The young lion could not do anything when one young goat was pounced and taken away by the wolf.

The mother goat was sad because one of her children was eaten by the wolf. She looked at the young lion with suppuration and angry feelings, "You should be defending us! You should save your brother! You should be able to drive out the evil wolf!"

Curug Nangka Photo Hunting

February 5th, 2011...I went to Bogor with some colleagues to photo hunt. The destination was Curug Nangka, one of the mainstay waterfalls in Bogor regency. Its location was not a thing you could not reach by motorcycling or driving a car (we got there fully assisted by GPS, tho..LOL). Soon we arrived at the place, papz immediately pulled out his gear and took us some photos (as soon as he publish it on the web, I'll provide the link). Didn't wanna miss out the chance and moments, I took out my camera and started to capture those beautiful moments.

Still experimenting with tone...by adjusting levels, selective colors, and color balance in Adobe Photoshop CS4.

My Colleague in Action

Hello guys,

In this post, I am showing you some of my photo retouch projects that I been experimenting for the last week. That's why I rarely post or comment and blogwalking to my friends' blog. *Sorry! :)

For the first photo, I used Adobe Photoshop to spice it up. Levels, selective colors, and color balance adjusting were used here. Unfortunaltely, I forgot the steps I made for the photo. *LOL
I put a texture image at the top layer and applied overlay in blending options.

Pap in Action

For the second photos, I retouched them in Adobe Lightroom 3 software using my own-made preset. I know that I have been experimenting on this preset log time ago, back in the last quarter of year 2010. Lucky you I have shared it on the web. Here are the photos:

If you are interested in using my preset, please give me credit for the photo or you can simply tell me where you put it online (the link of the image).

This is for the bonus photo:
I know that it is definitely not good to experiment on the food photo tone. But, I wanna break the rule! Only for this photo. :)

A Poetry from Mother

My lovely mom and sister

Saying goodbye

By Lucinda Price

Letting go does not mean I don't care
With everything in our life that we have shared
Letting go means that I don't own your mistakes
I will not be in control; high stakes
You are in control of this day, this one....
It is time that my hands go down by my side
And you get a reality ride
For every mother knows
It hurts to let go
But if I continue to take the blows for you
You'll never learn about life and I love you
Letting go does not mean I'll leave you totally alone
It means that I'll be on the side lines cheering "go!"

A request from Utie...*But I was a little bit confused whether she would like me to put this on my blog or not :-/

Old Lady

“What could be more beautiful than a dear old lady an accident of nature, growing wise with age? Every age can be enchanting, provided you live within it. A beautiful old lady is a work of art.”

Random Photograph

boredom...this is how I feel right now. The weather is not quite friendly lately. Global warming, I think. Yes, indeed! Could go nowhere. Stay at my room, watching movies all day long, facebooking, chatting, updating my blog (*just like I am doing now), and any other things which can only be done in front of my laptop. LOL!

Anyway, such condition has positive effects to me, tho. Well, for my laptop to be exact. I can do defragment my HD and run the antivirus regular scan. Rearrange my folders to make 'em way much easier to be found. And edit some photographs...???

Jakarta Old Town

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Jakarta Old Town (Kota Tua Jakarta), also known as Old Jakarta, or Old Batavia (Oud Batavia), with two of my colleagues, mas Didik and Pap, to have a photo hunting. This was the last time I took shots with my Nikon D5000 camera before I decided to sell it. So, enjoy the last photographs taken with my Nikon D5000.

Mi Promise (Extraordinary Things Happen to Extraordinary People)

This photo has been spiced up :)

By: Putri Aisyah

A good friend of mine said this to me 4 days ago, "At the moment, I am stuck on the steep edge of the abyss of life. Seems excessive, but it happens to the right people and at the right time. So I can be more grateful since I am more fortunate than others."

My friend added that in order to adapt to something new, we have to be a fast runner not a fast walker (I love this part - red). Proverbial, such as Salah at five periods of the day. For the Muslims pray at five periods of the day is the time when we must give a report to Almighty Allah SWT. But our report will look like a uniform that makes us just like His people judged others. Then how can we be judged more by Allah SWT? We do our prayers and the Qur'an and sunna I'tikaf. That is where Allah SWT is able to see us more. Because we have a value, and we are able to undergo all because we do it sincerely.

Success is not determined by the final result, but rather to the process. Success or not, it’s all God secrets. Allah SWT task is to determine the outcome, no matter what all has been written in the sky. We, as His people, will not be able to remove or change what has been written in the sky.

"You fall, You learn
You cry, You learn
You scream, You learn
...and you breath."

*Congrats on your new job! Hope you do enjoy...and nice hair cut,,like it! ;p

Bottles of Joy

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
