Wehehehee...Been more than two weeks I haven't touched my blog since I went back to my hometown, Jogja (Post will be added, just be patient ;p). While we're waiting the story to be wrapped up, here I give you some of my brother's action figures collections.

New Work Environment

I am writing this blog post right before taking a shower. I actually wanted to update this blog post last night, but there were many things I hadn't done since my arrival to this new city far from home. Yes, I am at Hong Kong... ;)

Last week I had a supper with my hunny. We went to Sour Sally to enjoy some chill nite before going home after work. She was a little bit upset at first since I almost forgot my promise, but eventually it was a nice and delighted one, tho.

Well, I wanna talk a bit about this picture. I was waiting for my friend when I came up with such crazy idea (*to pull out my camera) and took the photograph. A lady - who just came out from the room, suddenly screamed and yelled at me, "ARRRGGHH...GET THE F*CK OUT OF HERE, YOU PERVERT!" Well, she thought I was trying to sneak a look. Sigh! I am not the kind of guy (am I?). LOL

Technically, this photograph is a bit tight on both sides, for I stood pretty close to the object and lens distortions make it even worst. So I had to retouch it in Photoshop :)

Tonal Experiments (Again)

Yes, lately I am using Adobe Photoshop very much to retouch my photos. From color balance, bypass, level, curve, hue - saturation, to exposure. Here are some of my experimental victims.

Testing My New Gear: Part II

These photographs are still taken from the same day I picked up my old-age lens, Tamron 135mm f/2.5. For your information, it took about two months to make it works for Nikon camera, because it is actually not designed for Nikon camera. It has a different mounting to the body.

Testing My New Gear

Today, I picked up my old damn lens, Tamron 135mm f/2.5, at Golden Truly, Senen. It is a manual lens, so it's kinda difficult to get the object focused. But, I and a colleague named Yogi managed to capture few great (-at least, for me) pictures...

Eid El-Adha

Muslims around the world were celebrating the Eid El-Adha or the "Festival of Sacrifice" in commemoration of the belief that Ibrahim (Abraham) was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail to God. Observant Muslims celebrate it by slaughtering animals to commemorate God's gift of a ram to substitute for Ibrahim's son, and distributing the meat amongst family, friends and the poor.

Saturday Night Ride

I always spend my weekend riding my bike with friends. I usually ride bike on Sunday morning. But this weekend seemed pretty unusual, as I went around the city at night. We commonly say it a “Night Ride”, or simply abbreviated as NR.

We started the trip from Pejaten Village, in front of RM. Padang. We chose it as the assemble point to gather all the riders. While waiting for the others, we took some nice pictures and discussed the route we were going to take.

Learning Panning

Panning is one of the techniques in photography. It’s a pretty difficult skill to master, but once you do you can get some wonderful shots. In pictures with this technique, the subject, which is moving, appears clear while the background appears blurred.

You do this by simply moving the camera with the subject as it moves. This can be difficult, because the field of your shot needs to be moving at the same speed as the subject. To accomplish this, you should begin moving the camera before the subject enters your field, and continue moving the camera after the subject has exited. Also, remember not to set your shutter speed too fast or the subject and background will both come out clear.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t perfect this technique right away – it’s tough; just keep practicing. Here are some of my pictures taken with panning technique:
