Audi A6 (Wanna Be) Sketch

I've been drawing since I was a kid, and have collected lots of trophies as well as awards from various competitions and events. But honestly speaking, I have never ever managed to draw a 'close-to-realistic' car drawing. I rarely draw cars for its difficulties in proportions, a good balance of lights, midtones, and darks along with clean, sharp edges...until now! lol. Below is the Audi A6 (wanna be) sketch created indiscriminately for my little pumpkin. She really likes all types of Audi cars and when we stumbled across one of the cars, she acts like a nutty ;)

Peculiar Animal

If you like this comic, please leave your comments. Credit goes to my brother for making this comic strip ;)

Left boy: Hey look! A peculiar animal.
Right boy: What animal???

Left boy: It has all the body parts like head and arms on the foot.
Right boy: There is no such animal?!

Self-Picture

This one I made a couple of years ago. Though the right eye is a little bit asymmetric, but it's still okay (it's because the model is somewhat gorgeous, so it won't be any matter with the picture). Hahaa..just kidd! ;)

Twit..Twit..Twitter

"...we came across the word 'twitter', and it was just perfect. The definition was 'a short burst of inconsequential information,' and 'chirps from birds'. And that's exactly what the product was."

Klara Beach: Work in Progress

Perfect! Couldn't believe she just managed to keep my eyes widely open til this late. Pheeeww...I have no idea what has happened. All I know is that she was off to bed right after having a phone call (she didn't even read my bbm) :(

Anyway, it would be better (hopefully) for me posting a blog rather than dwelling on it. As many of my friends are curious on how I made the drawing (some of them even don't believe I did it on my Android), this time Imma show you the work in progress. Just for your information, I used stylus instead of finger to draw it ;) Okay..here we go, enjoy!

I start it with (of course) sketching ;)

Then I continue coloring the orange sky.

Here is the screenshot...

Klara Beach - Sketchbook Mobile for Android

Morning readers...big apologies for my recent lack of post. I just bought a new gadget from ebay and spend most of the time tinkering with it ;D The device is pretty cool..Equipped with Android operating system, this smartphone becomes very powerful yet beautiful. It is sooo me! One of my favorite applications installed on the device is 'Autodesk Sketchbook Mobile' for Android, and below is the 'masterpiece' I managed to create. Hehehee...

Sunset in Klara Beach, Bandar Lampung

Later perhaps I will post more drawings and paintings using this application when I'm on mobile. Just stick around. You can subscribe to this blog if you'd like to receive updates.

Thanks ;)

HORTA Grass Doll

This doll was quite famous a couple of years ago. The name is "HORTA" grass doll (Ind: boneka rumput horta). It is practically a plant media packed in the form of a doll grown by grass. This doll is very suitable as an exercise for children on how to grow plants so they will care more to their environment.

Horta doll is made of wood powder formed in various kinds of shape and grass seed is put on top of that so it will grow hair (in the form of grass). It's really easy to grow the hair. First of all, place the doll in the water container with the position of the head facing downward for approximately an hour. Then place the doll on a dry case. Don't forget to water its head every day. After a week, you can see the grass will start growing. You can do some experiments to make the doll more stylish.

I'm wondering if I have a thousand of Horta dolls...

Bonus rough sketch of comic strip.

Wedding Caricature: Work in Progress

Last week I was asked by an old friend to make her caricatures of her elder sister and her spouse for wedding invitation. The progress is still 75%, and now I am supposed to continue working on the commission. But apparently my sister forgot to include the pen tablet when packing my laptop. Gotta back home for the stylus. Imma put it on my blog soon after getting approval from the client. In the mean time, I will just give you some rough sketches I made with the help from my little pumpkin. These all are her ideas. I am just the executor... ;) Enjoy!

The first sketch seems okay, but she is afraid the buffalo will appear more dominant than the brides themselves. Then she came up with the second sketch ;)

Okay...then I transferred 'em into my laptop so I can draw in digital...

My Colleague: Work in Progress

I am writing this post during my translation project at the 'office'. This is a commission from my former Ex*am*p colleague, mas Jule. He asked me to make him a sketch from the photo he gave several months ago. Hehehee,,The result is better (*I guess). Here I am posting the work in progress from beginning till the end. Tools of the trade: Adobe Photoshop CS 4 with Wacom pen tablet. Enjoy!

Little Pumpkin: Work in Progress

Last week I posted a screenshot of my 2,000th tweet as a dedication for my little pumpkin. You guys might wanna see the work in progress from sketching to coloring, eh? How can I jabber on for so long and not really show anything? So, ther ya go! *You can click on the image to see it larger (its original size). Click here to see the result!

I start it with the sketch...very rough ;)

And then I continue it with the base color and add some lighting.

Blend and add more details to the artwork.

The Right-Brain Expert

Ippho Santosa at Yokohama, Japan
Jakarta - Reading the third book of Ippho Santosa will make us always say Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar. Why? Because Ippho has "flicked" us to always be grateful for whatever happens. And he jogs our memory that we can always train our right brain to work and make some charity. Ippho also says that the right side is always associated with matters that lead to goodness. So that is no harm if we can start our activities by using the right brain: Irrational, emotional, Intuition, Unplanned, Expressive, and Spontaneous.

I personally love this concept because it is easy. Perhaps this is because of my own self that also have properties and characteristics similar to the concept of the right brain. It’s just how I can develop it intelligently in my daily life. It’ll be my next mission. On his books, Ippho essentially argues the same things. In the first book, Ippho explains the right-brain method of introduction. Then on to the second edition of the book, Ippho explains how to put it into practice in our lives, while on the third book Ippho invites us to be more creative and develop it properly. In his books, Ippho also puts many jokes so readers will not necessarily get bored because most motivation books often patronizing.

I supposed I could review more of the 3 books from Ippho, however I deliberately shortened it so readers may be interested to read the motivation books from Ippho. One thing to describe Ippho books, ''FANTASTIC".

The First Day

Hey pumpkin, how are you? Hope you're doing good. Having great time with your besties ;)

Here I am, writing a blog post on the sidelines of slaying another dead lion at my second office. I'm not doing pretty good today, but I'm fine. This first day is a really hard day for me without having you around. I been thinking about you the whole day. I tried to handle it by sleeping, yet failed. You kept popping out in my dreams. I thought working on my translation project would put you out of my mind for just a moment. However, I ended up writing this blog entry about you. I just couldn't help it.

Oh ya, I forgot I still owe you a picture. The sketch of your face. Here it is... :)

I added texture at the background. Hope you don't mind ;)

“when I tell you I love you, It doesn't mean I know you'll never go, Only that I wish you didn't have to.”

Gee, time flies by and I gotta slay the dead lion. I'm missing you so bad! :(

My 2000th Tweet

Hello bloggers...

Hohohoo, sorry for the lack of post on my blog over the last few weeks or so. Been quite busy with office work and stuff.

Anyway, I been tweeting for more than two years, but my 'tweetstone' ain't pretty good. Hehehee...Speaking of fact, twitter wasn't as famous as facebook back then. But now, we can get the most updated information like traffic info (this helps me alot) or events happening in town through this micro blog. Very cool, eh!

And now, I have touched my 2,000th tweet since June 2009, the very first time I met twitter. I also dedicate my 2,000th tweet to my little pumpkin. Love you ;) If you wanna see the original tweet, simply click here or you can follow my twitter @radenfelix.
