Wednesday, the middle day of the week, is a calque of the Latin dies Mercurii "day of Mercury", reflecting the fact that the Germanic god Woden (Wodanaz or Odin) during the Roman era was interpreted as "Germanic Mercury”. The day is also renowned as the ‘hump day’, meaning that one has made it "over the hump" towards the weekend. Anyway, I’d rather call it as Bustling Wednesday!
